- Mid Vermont is a Christian school for grades PK-12 in Quechee, Vermont. Every year a group of high school students, staff, and parents travel to Guatemala to work at a Christian school. For seven years we went to Colegio El Mesías, a school in the town of Santa Lucía Utatlán in the mountains northwest of Guatemala City. For two years we served at Colegio Generación de Josué, a PK-9 Christian school in Chiquimulilla, a town near the Pacific Ocean in the south. This is our fourth year traveling to San Bartolo (San Bartolo Aguas Calientes) which is a municipality in the Totonicapán department of Guatemala. It is north of San Francisco El Alto and west of Santa María Chiquimula. This hilly region is situated in rugged highlands. The area sits atop porous limestone deposits. The ministry in San Bartolo will include VBS style of ministry in Compassion to young children, ministry in churches, ministry to the youth on Saturday night and ministry in the church at Iglesia Bethania where Pastor Julio is the pastor and doing construction through the week.
